Just Thinking
Lately I've been thinking about two of my favorite bumper stickers. One is "Expect a Miracle" and the other is "Practice Random Acts of Kindness." When I see "Expect a Miracle", for a fleeting moment I wonder what type of person puts that on a car bumper. Well it's probably the same kind of person who puts "Practice Random Acts of Kindness" on their rear bumper. And why do I say this? Both "statements" are pretty positive and require great optimism and faith - faith in the universe and in the goodness of mankind, faith that we will work it out and faith that there is a master plan - that everything is in order. It also requires faith that if we look deep inside ourselves we will find the solution; the -- fabric that weaves us all together. Faith is not based on reason or intellect. It's a feeling or belief that we just have. I also have that faith when I root for the underdog. What is it about the underdog that we just love? Except for the faithful, no one gives the underdog much chance of winning. When the underdog wins, we're reminded of what is possible for us in our lives. For the underdog to succeed, a strong belief in self is required. And isn't that belief in ourselves what's necessary for us to live an inspired life? It's only when this new paradigm becomes a way of being that we live in a way thatâs outside the box. Thinking outside the box opens us to possibilities never - before considered, to solutions to problems that were thought insolvable. There's a story I just read thatâs so inspirational and so right on, I want to share it with you.
A very mean king found out that a commoner was in love with his daughter, and that she was in love with him. The king thought the only way he could put an end to the relationship was to execute the commoner by charging him with a crime he didn't commit. Naturally, the commoner pled innocent. And as was the custom in this kingdom, fate would determine his future. The next day the king and the commoner were in the towns square as hundreds of townspeople looked on. The king held out two envelopes and said "Choose one." The commoner chose one of the envelopes and slowly opened it. Suddenly he started jumping for joy and shouted, "I'm innocent, I'm innocent." As he continued to shout he ripped the card into pieces and swallowed it. One of the king's men watching asked, "How do we know you are innocent? You swallowed the card!" And the commoner replied, "That's easy; just read what's on the other card."
The commoner knew that both envelopes contained a card that said "guilty". Inspired by his love and passion he found the way out that allowed him to live and live passionately.
So here's a thought. Think about your biggest challenge. Then think outside the box and find a solution! What's the difference? What's stopping you from making this a reality? Take the next step and live passionately.
Let me know what your next step is. I love receiving your many responses and feedback. Thank you and keep them coming. Feel free to pass this letter on to the friends in your circle and let them know about the advantages of being on the journey.

I am gratified when I see people get excited about their lives. Too many of us give up because we think that what we really want is not possible.
