SET THE TONE FOR THE DAY

What I like about coaching others is that I’m working on the same things as my clients. When I get feedback that my suggestions are helpful it reinforces my own practice.

All of us experience those periods when we begin to feel that life is slipping away from us. We seem to be surrounded by dark forces and don’t see a way out.

We feel discouraged especially when we start to focus on what’s bothering us. Quite often in a coaching call, my client will start out with a scenario that seems discouraging. There scenario sounds totally reasonable and believable. Yes, from their perspective their life seems dark and hopeless.

What I tell them is that they need to look at how they start their day. Their is a direct correlation with how you start your day and the quality of your life. How you start your day sets the tone for the day.

Last Tuesday wasn’t any different. I told John(real name not disclosed for confidentiality purposes) to take 20 minutes for himself and meditate and stretch before he left the house.

Yesterday he called me unexpectantly to tell me that is exactly what he did and he had a great day. It reminded him of the value of a morning practice. It reminded me to keep practicing what I am preaching. It works. On a regular basis I hear the same thing.

It you want to change how you view the world, change how start your day. You might think you don’t have enough time….the truth is that you do. It’s a matter of reclaiming your life.
